Aimee Skrzekut
Management Consultant
Aimee Skrzekut is an executive leader with over 17 years of experience in management, finance, strategic planning, outreach, program and resource development. She has worked internationally in a developing country, nationally for the largest voluntary association in the world and locally for a small social service agency and state government. Currently, she serves as a management consultant specializing in project development, fundraising, communication, program design and event planning for mission-based organizations.
Most recently, Ms. Skrzekut assisted with the development of a new women’s health initiative in Balgue, Nicaragua. Proyecto Las Mujeres Saludables, the Healthy Women Project will develop the first ever medical and health library specializing in the overall well being of women and their families. The Project will bring awareness and solutions to some of the most critical issues that hinder women and young females from reaching their full educational potential. She also independently conducted a fundraiser generating 25% of the annual operating budget for Café Infantil which provides impoverished children a meal, vitamins, and dental hygiene six days per week.
Beginning in 1996, Ms. Skrzekut joined the American Bar Association and advanced through a number of challenging positions. When she left the ABA in 2009, Ms. Skrzekut was serving as Director of the Justice Center while simultaneously occupying the position of Judicial Division Director. She worked with judges, bar leaders, law professors, deans and citizens to develop initiatives which support justice system improvement. She also worked to address critical issues including: diversity on the bench, public awareness about the courts, judicial outreach, inter-branch relations, ethics and increasing public trust in an accessible and impartial judiciary.
Before joining the ABA, Aimee worked for state government as a Small Business/Education Specialist for the Illinois EPA Small Business Office and as a Parent Group Services Coordinator for a not-for-profit, social service agency serving at-risk teen parents. Aimee received her Master’s Degree in Political Science from the University of Illinois.
