Community-Based Doula Leadership Institute

In October 2008, the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA) awarded HealthConnect One a 2-year grant to provide training, technical assistance, and cross-site evaluation to a cohort of six HRSA-funded community-based doula programs across the country.  The result of tireless advocacy by HC One's doula network and other maternal and child health (MCH) stakeholders around the country, this is the first federal funding stream for community-based doula programs.

HRSA selected HC One to become the Community-based Doula Leadership Institute to train the six program sites, create an advisory board for the initiative, and continue guiding the work of community-based doula programs around the country.
