Donna Grant Dorsey currently serves as vice president of human resources for Navistar Inc’s global Integrated Product Development organization and Navistar Financial Corporation - a wholly owned subsidiary of Navistar, Inc. In this role, Dorsey is responsible for all strategies related to talent management, recruitment, performance management, diversity and people development for over 3000 employees around the globe. In addition to her business unit human resources responsibilities, Donna serves as a member of Navistar’s human resources leader leadership team responsible for enterprise Navistar HR strategy, governance and project management.
Prior to joining Navistar, Dorsey was manager, human resources at Sears, Roebuck & Company (now Sears Holding) where she was instrumental at leading the development of people strategies for corporate functions and serving as a leader for diversity initiatives across the enterprise.
She has held other positions of increasing responsibility in Human Resources including:
• Sr. Human Resources Manager, Recruitment – Sears
• Human Resources Generalist – American Hospital Association
• Employment Representative – Morgan Stanley Dean Witter
• HR Generalist – Chicago Park District
As a leader in both her community and profession, Donna serves as HR Advisory Board member for CareerPlace (formerly Barrington Career Center) and as Chair of the HR Management Association of Chicago’s North/Northwest interest group. In addition, she is a member of the Society Human Resource Management, the Northwest Human Resources Council, the National Association of African American’s in HR, the American Society of Training and Development, the National Urban League, the American Bar Association and the Illinois Bar Association. Donna was named by Diversity MBA Magazine as one of the 2011 Top 100 Under 50 Diverse Executive & Emerging Leaders. She holds a Paralegal certificate and is a certified Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR). She earned a bachelor of arts degree in political science from Rutgers University and a Juris Doctorate from Chicago Kent College of Law with a certification in labor and employment law. While in law school, she was president of Black Law Students Association.
Donna lives in Gurnee, Illinois with husband, Lance and sons Jayson, Dale and Isaiah.
