“Nepal has one of the most successful community health volunteer programs in the world. The national Female Community Health Volunteer (FCHV) program was introduced in 1988 by the Ministry of Health and Population. FCHVs cover all communities in Nepal, and generally are responsible for 100-150 households. They do not receive pay for their community service. FCHVs contribute to Nepal's goals of reducing under-five child mortality and maternal mortality rates and prevention of malnutrition.”

“I am thrilled about my purposeful work as a Louisiana Breast Feeding Peer Counselor since March 2, 2013. My daughter Hannah is nine months old now and still breast feeding so well. She loves her milk from me and i have no plans on weaning. Thanks for your consideration!”
