Faruq Sarumi is a MPH candidate at the Tulane University School of Public Health and Tropical Medicine. He is pursuing a concentration in Maternal and Child Health within the Department of Global Community Health and Behavioral Sciences.
During his time as an undergraduate at the University of Illinois at Chicago (UIC), Faruq participated in various community outreach programs surrounding women’s health and rights, and he plans to utilize his skills and experiences to work with marginalized populations. Eventually, he aims to work on international maternal and child policy-making and research.
Faruq values social justice surrounding reproductive health.
