HealthConnect One sends its deepest condolences to all of the families and communities impacted by this past weekend’s violent attacks. On Saturday, August 3rd, a young mom was with her two-month old baby buying back-to-school supplies for her children at a Walmart in El Paso, TX. In a targeted attack, a gunman entered and killed 20 people and injured dozens more. The young mom did not survive. Thankfully, her child did survive, despite broken bones from his mom trying to protect him.
HealthConnect One condemns these violent acts happening across the nation against mothers, families, and communities. It is unacceptable for children and moms to be gunned down at a garlic festival or buying back-to-school supplies at the store. It is everyone’s responsibility to dismantle violent white supremacy that is harming our communities and to hold politicians accountable who are using this rhetoric to incite violence.
If you would like to support the families impacted by this violence here is an organization in El Paso accepting donations on behalf of the victims.
During this time, please share any links to organizations you think we need to support that are helping these communities.
