January 21 – 23, California Breastfeeding Summit & Legacy Gala, California – Brenda Reyes, Program Specialist Lead in Lactation Services will be at this event. The Summit is a catalyst for change to remove barriers and increase breastfeeding rates among all populations in California. The goal of the 2020 California Breastfeeding Summit is to cultivate and sustain a collaborative community of advocates in California to achieve health equity and continuity of care for breastfeeding families.
January 22 – 26, FamiliesUSA Annual Conference, Washington D.C. – Wandy Hernandez Gordon, Senior Program Specialist Lead and member of the FamiliesUSA Health Equity Task Force will be in attendance. This conference is a two-day event combining inspiring sessions featuring state and national experts with networking opportunities with colleagues in health policy and advocacy.
January 28 – Wandy Hernandez Gordon will attend the inaugural meeting of the Infant Maternal Mortality and Morbidity Amongst African Americans Task Force, a new body created by the Illinois Legislature and led by the Illinois Department of Public Health Office of Women’s Health and Family Services
March 9th – The Effects of Doulas on First Food Equity – Brenda Reyes, RN, CLC will be presenting at the Nursing Mother’s Council Breastfeeding Conference on March 9th in Boxborough, MA. Her presentation will provide an opportunity for participants to learn about community-based peer-to-peer support models, community engagement, home-visiting approach to supporting families, particularly in under-served communities.
March 21 – 24, AMCHP 2020, Virginia – Sadie Wych, Program Specialist Lead: Evaluation and Learning will be in attendance. This conference convenes 1,000 public health officials who share an interest in maternal and child health. The 2020 AMCHP Annual Conference will be held March 21-24 at the Crystal Gateway Marriott in Crystal City, Virginia.
May 13 – Healthy Baby Summit, Colorado – Keynote – Brenda Blasingame, Executive Director
The Summit is an inspirational day of learning for new and expecting parents and pre & postnatal professionals focused on information about prenatal and maternal depression, lactation support, breast milk.
